An effective board must include active members of the communities the organization serves. Most nonprofits are challenged with finding strong board members who are committed to helping the organization achieve its mission.  Nonprofits with inclusive boards have well-organized recruitment and onboarding processes. This roundtable discussion will focus on how to cultivate, recruit, orient and engage board members to get maximum impact for your organization.

About the presenter: Debra Hertz is Managing Director of The Strategy Group, a strategic advisory firm that works to help strengthen the impact of non-profits and private foundations. The firm works with organizations on issues related to planning, leadership training, merger negotiations and integration, and organizational effectiveness. Debra brings extensive work serving on and chairing nonprofit boards.  Most recently, she served as Chair of the Board of Liberation Programs, Inc., a substance abuse treatment agency serving Fairfield County.
