At this book club style event\, we’ll explore Kristen Hannah’s powerful bestselling novel The Women—a story of a young nurse who serves during the Vietnam War and comes home to a country that does not always recognize what women have sacrificed\, endured\, and built. It is a story about courage\, invisibility\, resilience\, and the long arc of being seen. Hannah’s work also offers a meaningful lens through which we can reflect on our own experiences and the impact we make through the Women’s Giving Circle. \nIf you have not had a chance to read the book — come anyway! This is—first and foremost—a gathering of women who care about our community and each other. The conversation will welcome everyone\, reader or not. \nThe conversation will naturally draw connections between the novel and the real experiences of women and girls in our own region — the challenges they face\, the strength they carry\, and the difference our giving circle makes in creating opportunity and support for those who need it most. \nThis is our final gathering before June’s voting event\, which makes it an especially meaningful moment to come together. \nThis event is free and open to the public.
