“The Connecticut Community Foundation strives to build thriving communities for all ages. The pursuit of this ambitious goal relies on many tools, but the most critical one of all may be education: an ongoing experience of building knowledge and awareness.
As such, the Foundation’s commitment to education is deep and its scope is wide, including grant support for programs in early childhood literacy, positive youth development, college preparedness, career training, financial literacy, and lifelong learning opportunities for older adults. Additionally, the Foundation is the largest provider of college scholarships in the region, providing over $829,000 in awards to students in 2015 alone.
Education is an investment in the future, a priority found at the heart of every healthy community and satisfying life; through the generous support of our donors, the Connecticut Community Foundation is honored to make it an integral part of our mission.”
– Josh Carey, Director of Grants Management
For the past ten years, Connecticut Community Foundation has helped provide young children with a strong educational backbone through its LitLinks grant making initiative. Aiming to improve the quality of preschool programs by increasing the number of centers that are accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), ease transitions to Kindergarten, and enhance parent involvement, LitLinks has touched thousands of young children from birth to age 8.
