Among the largest college scholarship providers in Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills, Connecticut Community Foundation has made nearly 6,000 awards — totaling $10.4 million — to area students over the past 20 years. For the 2018-2019 academic year, to date the Foundation has awarded more than $900,000 to 420 students.

Note that not all scholarship recipients are shown on the map. The Foundation also provides scholarship funds to Naugatuck Valley Community College, Connecticut Junior Republic and Central Connecticut State University, who determine and distribute scholarships to students directly. Also, the Foundation’s service area includes 21 towns in Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills. Scholarships awarded to students outside the service area (awarded through special funds) are not shown on the map.
