Community Forum: Is Connecticut a Great Place to be a Child?

Did you know nearly 1 in 10 children in Connecticut grow up in poverty? Although Connecticut is one of the wealthiest states in the country, far too many families face challenges that make it hard for children to thrive. Join us for an informative and engaging forum that brings attention to one of the most pressing challenges facing Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills and our state and help End Child Poverty Now.

The session will begin with a presentation on local data, highlighting strengths and challenges related to children and families in our community. Then, a panel of local leaders, experts, and advocates will discuss their insights and potential solutions.

Featuring:

  • Kathy Taylor, Connecticut Community Foundation
  • Mark Abraham, DataHaven
  • Ginny Monk, CT Mirror, Moderator
  • Emily Byrne, CT Voices for Children
  • Rashida Rattray, Connecticut Fair Housing Center

Together, we can work toward a future where every child in Connecticut has the opportunity to thrive and prosper.

This forum is open to the public. Register below to reserve your spot.
