The Waterbury Black Giving Circle’s Juneteenth Oratorical Contest
Saturday, February 28, 1:00- 3:00 p.m.
Mattatuck Museum – Performing Arts Center

The Waterbury Black Giving Circle invites the public to attend our first Juneteenth Oratorical Contest Event. Join us to hear original speeches from passionate Waterbury students highlighting the importance of Black History and Juneteenth in our lives. Students will present to local judges, and winners will be announced. Speeches will honor Black history heroes, elevate Black voices, and celebrate Black joy and freedom.
First place winners will perform their speeches at the Waterbury Black Giving Circle’s 2026 Juneteenth Celebration on Friday, June 12.
This event is free, bring a friend!
