Many people just put it off, or assume that making a Will is expensive, complicated or something that only the rich and famous need. But making your wishes clear is worthwhile.
There’s no better time to cross this task off your list. To help make the process painless and inexpensive, we are offering FreeWill, a service that makes creating a legally valid Will simple, fast, and free.
In about 20 minutes, you can:
- Name guardians for your children
- Decide who inherits your assets
- Document your wishes clearly, reducing the chance of family disputes
- Leave a gift to a cause or causes you care about
- Update your plan any time your life changes
FreeWill is a free online resource that can help individuals create a simple will and begin the estate planning process. Connecticut Community Foundation makes FreeWill available to our community to help more people take the important step of creating or updating a Will. Currently, many Americans do not have a will in place, and FreeWill provides a simple, accessible starting point.
