St Vincent De Paul Mission

Volunteers at St. Vincent DePaul Mission Soup Kitchen in Waterbury cook, prepare and serve ‘grab-and-go’ meals and provide pantry items for hundreds of people each week.

Just as winter approaches and the holiday season is upon us, recent policy changes are stripping families across our 21-towns of critical food.

To address the growing, critical needs in our communities, we have launched the Impact NOW fund. The Impact NOW Fund provides support for immediate basic needs in our community. With a goal of reaching $300,000 by year’s end, we have already begun to leverage this funding to support critical needs in our community.

“As part of our commitment to the communities we serve, we recognize that food insecurity is a critical challenge. By contributing resources and support, we aim to help ensure that every family has access to nutritious meals and the dignity that comes with food security,” said Kathy Brochhausen, Executive Director, Ion Bank Foundation

Kathy Taylor, President and CEO commented, “Ion Bank is a steadfast supporter of our community and we are deeply grateful for their matching support.  It enables us to help our community right now and ensures that more people have enough to eat. Ion Bank Foundation has also been the presenting sponsor of Give Local since the very beginning.  Give Local, in its 14th year, is the community’s 36-hour giveathon which raises millions each year for hundreds of local nonprofits in Greater Waterbury and the Litchfield Hills.”
